Is the AP Exam schedule the same every year?
AP exams generally take place each year during the first two weeks of May. See above for the complete schedule for 2022. If you have two exams scheduled at the same time, you are eligible for late testing for one of the exams. Just talk to your school’s AP exam coordinator!

When did AP tests start?
1954
The pilot program for AP exams was launched in 1952 and tested high schoolers in 11 subjects. In 1954, around 530 high school students took AP exams. They paid $10 to take the test and received scores on a scale of 1-5. A year later, the College Board took over testing and launched the AP program as we know it today.
Does AP exams 2022 have makeup?
Exams will be given from May 2-13, 2022. Makeup test are only in the case of an emergency and must be approved by the school site.
When can I register for AP 2022?
During the 2021-2022 school year, the official deadline for students to register for Advanced Placement exams is Nov. 15.
What is the oldest AP class?
After the strong performance of the test-takers as compared to college freshman who had taken introductory university coursework, ten AP exams were rolled out nationally in 1956: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Composition, Literature, French, German, Spanish, and Latin.
Can I skip an AP exam?
No one will know you missed the exam, and colleges don’t necessarily expect that you will take the AP exam for every AP-level class you take. If you still want that college credit, you can take the AP test the following year; however, you’ll have to put in some serious study time to be able to remember everything!
Is AP exam open book?
Like many college take-home exams, 2020 AP exams will be open book/open note. Students may access class notes and class resources to reference concepts covered during their course.
