How do you know if O2 travel is activated?
Before you set off, check if you have O2 Travel by visiting My O2 or calling our customer service team on 202. Get the O2 Travel Bolt On by texting O2TRAVEL to 23336. If you don’t activate O2 Travel, you’ll then be charged our standard roaming rates. This can take up to 24 hours to be applied to your account.
Can I use Wi-Fi instead of roaming?
There is an Alternative! Instead, there is a simple setting in your smartphone that allows for this roaming to be turned off. So how do you stay in touch? Simply connect via Wi-Fi instead and use one of the many available apps/services for sending messages and making cheap/free calls.
Can I receive calls if data roaming is off?
Apparently, even if Cellular Data and Data Roaming are both turned off, you can still receive and make phone calls and send and receive text messages. And if Data Roaming is off, but Cellular Data is on and you’re abroad, you still can incur data charges.
